John was appointed to the Port Authority Police Department in 2002. As a Police Officer, John was assigned to the Central Police Pool, Newark Airport, and also served as a member of the PAPD Honor Guard. John was promoted to Sergeant in 2013 and was assigned to Newark Airport and PATH. John was promoted to Lieutenant in 2016 and assigned to Laguardia Airport and is currently assigned to the Lieutenants Reserve Pool.

In 2023, John was elected to the LBA Executive Board as a Trustee.

John currently resides in Union County, New Jersey with his wife and children.
